Tip of the Month
April Tip of the Month:
With green grass just around the corner, I just wanted to remind everyone to make sure you either get your horse's fecal's checked, or do your spring de-worming. Taking fecal samples is an inexpensive and easy way to be sure your de-worming program is working. In order to collect a viable sample first, you must get your horse to produce a fresh manure pile for you.
I recommend taking them for a trailer ride or any other way you know you'll get your horse to "go." Then you take a labeled baggie (horse's name & age) and invert it to pick-up one apple. We don't need the whole manure pile! Place your samples in a refrigerator until you can bring them into the store and we'll mail them off for you for a small fee. In about 2 weeks after we send them off one of our Equine Specialists will give you a call with your results. Before you bring them to Delano or Waconia Farm Supply, please call 612-554-6513.
If you have any questions or would like to request a free equine consultation be sure to email me: erinr@waconiafarm.com or just give me a call: 612-554-6513.
Happy Trails!
